This collection of information is needed in order to implement provisions of the Maritime Security Act of 1996. The information is collected from individual mariners and is required to retain benefits. Merchant seamen are required to provide information concerning period of employment and their merchant mariner's document. MARAD's Office of Maritime Labor and Training will use the collected information to determine if U.S. civilian mariners are eligible for re-employment rights under the Maritime Security Act of 1996.
The latest form for Information to Determine Seamen's Reemployment Rights - National Emergency expires 2023-07-31 and can be found here.
