Abstract: Merchant seamen are required to provide information concerning period of employment and their merchant mariners' document to determine eligibility for reemployment rights when the employment is related to designated national service. Respondents are seamen who have completed designated service in time of war/ national emergency and are seeking employment with prior employer.
