This information collection is used by the Department to request State Plans and annual revisions under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. We are proposing to revise the ICR to provide data specifications for the numerators and denominators used to calculate the law's performance indicators so that they are measured in a manner that is consistent with the statute, reduce the collection of potentially duplicative information, give States more time to report education and employment outcomes to improve the accuracy and completeness of these data, and to improve the consistency of performance data reported by States.

Miscellaneous Actions
The expiring authorization for this information collection had a burden of 1,620 hours. The new burden is 1,026 hours. These new proposed revisions to the State Plan Guide would decrease burden due to a change in the agency estimate. The Department now estimates that no new additional States will submit new State plans and that all 54 respondents will only submit revisions to their State Determined Performance Levels (SDPLs) and budgets for the forthcoming fiscal year’s State allocation in each year (i.e., 2025, 2026, and 2027).
