This information collection is for NSPS for Nitric Acid Plants for which Construction, Reconstruction or Modification Commenced after October 14, 2011. These standards limit nitrogen oxides (NOx), expressed as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), to 0.50 lb per ton of 100 percent nitric acid produced. These same standards require continuous emissions rate monitoring and require noncompliance and malfunction reports which are used to determine periods of excess emissions, identify problems at the facility, verify operation/maintenance procedures, and for compliance determinations.
