SUBJECT: Request for Approval of Non-Substantive Change to
Information Collection for the Requirements Pertaining
to Third Party Conformity Assessment Bodies (OMB
Control No. 3041-0156)

CPSC is requesting a non-substantive change to OMB Control Number 3041-0156, Requirements Pertaining
to Third Party Conformity Assessment Bodies, to explicitly include webform Form 223, previously also
captured under Control Number 3041-0143, Consumer Product Conformity Assessment Body Registration
Form. The burden estimated in 3041-0143 is duplicative of that captured and approved under 3041-0156, and
the OMB Control Number will be discontinued.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has updated the publicly available website for lab
accreditation (CPSC Form 223) to reflect approval under OMB 3041-0156:
https://www.cpsc.gov/cgibin/labregentry/. This website supports the application of third-party independent
laboratories, third-party firewalled laboratories, and third-party governmental laboratories that wish to be
registered with CPSC as an accredited laboratory to test children’s products for conformity with the
Commission’s children’s product safety rules.
The burden for OMB Control No. 3041-0156 is up to date and accurate. No other changes are being made to
the collection of information.
