The information is used by the trading
public, futures industry researchers, and the Commission to analyze
the commodity futures and option marketplace. The information is
received from each exchange on a daily basis in conjunction with
other data collected by the Commission to determine the potential
for market disturbances and distortions. Additionally, Commission
market analysts and researchers use this data on a frequent basis
in contract market reviews and research projects. Ultimately, the
Commission routinely incorporates verified data into its public
reports.
It’s estimated the annual
response burden has increased by 500 burden hours from the previous
renewal in 2019. Since the last renewal, the number of respondents
has increased from 15 to 17, and while the daily burden hour
remained unchanged at 1 hour per response, the total burden hours
of the program increased by 13% due to a rise in the number of
respondents.
