Reason for Study
Good nutrition is key to proper
childhood development, but little
is known about the food children
are eating or their opportunities for
physical activity while in child care.
In recognition of the importance
of nutrition and physical activity in
child care, Congress directed USDA
to conduct a nationally representative
study of child care centers and family
child care homes.
