Survey Messages

2 – 3 days prior to survey release

Good [Morning, Afternoon],

We have been working closely with the General Services Administration (GSA) on two major initiatives: (1) working to identify incentives for state and local governments to voluntarily provide information about real property that could support a communications facility installation (e.g. broadband installation); and (2) determining the feasibility of compiling that information into a database. This effort is based on Section 608(d) of the MOBILE NOW Act (Title VI of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 [P. L. 115-141]).  Attached please find an excerpt of the Act for your reference.

We need your help! GSA will be releasing a survey to gather feedback on the Act’s requirements. At this point, GSA is not actually collecting any data, just conducting a study on the possibility of collecting state and local government’s real property data and creating a database of that information. The Act requires GSA to provide a report to congress on its findings and your feedback will help shape the final report and recommendations.

Please be on the lookout for the survey and take a few minutes to provide your valuable insight.

As I noted in my email a few days ago, we have been working with the GSA on providing feedback on the MOBILE NOW Act, which requires GSA to study potential incentives for states and local governments to voluntarily provide information about real property that could support a communications facility installation; and determining the feasibility of compiling that information into a database. GSA just released this survey to gather feedback on these topics. The survey should take approximately 6 minutes to complete. To everyone who has already taken the survey, thank you! If you have not had a chance to provide a response, the survey will be open for one more week. All responses must be submitted by COB [date].

As a reminder, GSA is not actually collecting any data, just conducting a study on the possibility of collecting states and local government’s real property data and creating a database of that data. The results of the study will be submitted as a report to congress. Your feedback will be incorporated into the findings and will help shape the final report and recommendations submitted to congress.
