GSA is required by the MOBILE NOW Act
(Section 608(d) of Title VI of Division P of the Consolidated
Appropriations Act, 2018 [P. L. 115-141]) to study: (a) how to
incentivize State and local governments to provide GSA with real
property data for inclusion in the Federal Real Property Profile
(FRPP) database, and (b) the feasibility of establishing or
operating a database to which State and local governments can
voluntarily submit this data.
The MOBILE NOW Act
(Section 608(d) of Title VI of Division P of the Consolidated
Appropriations Act, 2018 directs GSA to submit a report to Congress
on this study within one year of the signing of the Act, which was
signed on March 23, 2018. Therefore, GSA must consult with State
and local governments, or their representatives, to collect this
information and submit a Congressional report by March 22, 2019.
GSA is seeking approval to distribute a survey to State and local
governments and their representatives in order to solicit the
information required by law within the time-frame specified in the
Act.
