Evaluate current location of and alternatives to the Power Plant within the Arches (includes
conceptual design & siting possibilities)
Evaluate lessons learned and potential solutions to utility connectivity issues due to
movement of arches
Evaluate current distribution practices via subsurface cabling and potential alternatives
(includes conceptual design & siting possibilities)
Evaluate the current comprehensive grid capacity, including power supply, demand, and
maintenance capabilities
Evaluate connectivity level and cable length monitoring options to improve maintenance
identification of cable deficiencies
Evaluate location monitoring technologies and frequency of observation for improved
documentation of current conditions and cable locations
Evaluate current life expectancies of all utility system components against planned or speced
life expectancies at installation
Address appropriate funding pursuit timelines for utility system installations, repairs, and
replacements
Evaluate existing and potential alternative energy systems
Evaluate the use of and method of installation for outfall tunnels
Address future data and communications demands for large science
Address future utility sizing and capabilities based on status quo and potential large scale
surging
