The Administration for Children and
Families (ACF) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services (HHS) seeks approval to contact child welfare agencies for
the purpose of recruitment and gathering information to facilitate
the sampling of children for the third cohort of children and
families for the National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being
(NSCAW III). During this first phase (Phase I) of the project, the
study team will only collect information relevant to child welfare
agency recruitment and files for sampling children. A separate
package will be submitted requesting approval for the second phase
(Phase II) of the NSCAW III project, including baseline and
18-month follow-up data collection, instruments and procedures,
data analyses and the reporting of study findings.
