The Special Milk Program encourages
the consumption of fluid milk by children in the United States in
(1) nonprofit schools of high school grade and under, and (2)
nonprofit nursery schools, child care centers, settlement houses,
summer camps, and similar nonprofit institutions devoted to the
care and training of children, which do not participate in a food
service program authorized under the CNA or the National School
Lunch Act (NSLA).

This collection is currently
approved with 21,246 burden hours and 85,751 responses. Due to
corrections to the estimates to more accurately reflect updated
numbers of respondents, records, and burden time per response, FNS
estimates that the burden hours for this renewal will be reduced by
6,332 hours. FNS estimates that the total number of responses will
increase by 13,300 responses due to restoring the recordkeeping
burden for FNS-10 back into the collection and due to an adjustment
in the number of respondents who are submitting applications to
account for all of the respondents. FNS estimates that this renewal
will have 14,914 burden hours and 99,051 responses.
