Hello, my name is NAME and I work for [LOCAL RESEARCH PARTNER] based in [SITE OF COMPANY]. We conduct a variety of public opinion research projects with people across the Middle East and North Africa.

I’m calling today about a project that we are doing to learn about how people are involved in politics and their opinions of various kinds of political activities and strategies. As you know, a number of countries and organizations have been interested in our country. Some of these include the United States, UNICEF, WHO, the World Bank and many NGOs.

FOR FOCUS GROUPS: If you are interested in helping with the project and you meet its requirements, we would like to invite you to a focus group discussion where we hope to learn more about your opinions on these issues.

FOR INTERVIEWS: If you are interested in helping with the project and you meet its requirements, we would set up a time to interview you in person to learn more about your opinions on these issues.

Learning about your and others’ opinions will help us develop a questionnaire for a large survey we will be conducting. It would take about an hour of your time and we will compensate you for participating.¹ May I ask you a few questions to see if you qualify to participate?

If needed, explain further: Since we need to include people who are a mix of different backgrounds and experiences, there are some requirements that I have to check on for all of the people that we bring in to participate.
