The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42
U.S.C. 15801) amended the OCS Lands Act(43 U.S.C. 1331 et seq. + 43
U.S.C. 1801 et seq.), to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to
issue leases, easements, or rights-of-way on the OCS for developing
or supporting the production of energy resources other than oil and
gas and to authorize other energy and marine-related activities
that involve the use of existing facilities on the OCS.The
Secretary delegated this authority to BOEM.The EPAct authorized DOI
to develop regulations to implement this new authority.This IC
request concerns the paperwork burden of the regulations developed
to implement the EPAct amendments to the OCS Lands Act.
This renewal represents an
adjustment decrease of 221 hours due to re-estimating the burden
time and the number of responses due to respondent input and a
program decrease of 1 hour for deleting the requirement under
250.1731(c), which had been incorporated into the decommissioning
collection transferred to BSEE under 1014-0010.
