In accordance
with 5 CFR 1320, this information collection is approved through
8/31/2012. At the expiration of this collection, OMB requests that
the agency submit a generic ICR in place of this 'regular' ICR. The
generic ICR will permit the agency to submit surveys for service
delivery feedback in accordance with OMB guidance issued on June
15, 2011.

NOTE: This collection is being
resubmitted at OMB's request for the purpose of making the
collection generic, and uploading the specified surveys. ABSTRACT:
Voluntary customer satisfaction surveys will be used to contact
users of NRC services and products to determine their needs, and
how the Commission can improve its services and products to better
meet those needs. In addition, focus groups will be contacted to
discuss questions concerning those services and products. Results
from the surveys will give insight into how NRC can make its
services and products cost effective, efficient, and responsive to
its customer needs. Each survey will be submitted to OMB for its
review.
This submission includes burden
for eight surveys. Five of these surveys were included in the
estimates when this collection was renewed in 2009 and three
surveys were not included in the initial estimates. The additional
three surveys are: 1) National Source Tracking System (NSTS)
Customer Satisfaction Survey. The NSTS is a web-based database
designed to track the life cycle of Category 1 and 2 radioactive
sources regulated by the NRC and Agreement States. The responses
will provide feedback for future system enhancements. (992
responses, 165 hours.) 2) Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) External
Survey. The ROP is the agency's program to inspect, measure, and
assess the safety performance of commercial nuclear power plants
and to respond to any decline in performance. The NRC seeks to
achieve continuous improvement of the ROP through the ROP
self-assessment process through input from stakeholders. (30
responses, 22.5 hours.) 3) Stakeholder Survey on Risk Management
Concepts in Regulatory Programs. The Chairman has chartered a task
force to develop a strategic vision and options for adopting a more
comprehensive and holistic risk-informed, performance-based
regulatory approach. As part of this initiative, the task force is
using a Federal Register Notice to seek input from external
stakeholders on their experience with the agency's regulatory
approach. (30 responses, 60 hours.) These three surveys were
unanticipated at the time of the last renewal, and represent 248
hours of burden above the currently cleared total. The NRC is
requesting an increase in the total approved hours for this
clearance, and OMB approval to conduct these three surveys. In the
next renewal (to be submitted in summer 2012), the NRC will include
sufficient hours to cover any unanticipated surveys during the next
clearance period.
