Upon resubmission, TSA must update the supporting statement to reflect burden estimates for the approval period. While TSA states that estimates remain static, the supporting statement currently shows estimates from 2009-2011. The next submission should estimate burden hours and cost for years 2012, 2013, and 2014.

TSA is amending the Transportation Security Regulations to establish security threat assessment standards for determining whether an individual poses a security threat warranting denial of a hazardous materials endorsement for a commercial driver's license (CDL). This rule will require the collection of information from both individual truck drivers and states that issue hazmat endorsements.
