The collection of information is vital
to Rural Development to make decisions regarding the eligibility of
grant recipients in order to ensure compliance with the regulations
and to ensure that the funds obtained from the Government are being
used for the purposes for which they were awarded.
This is a new collection. There
has been a decrease in burden from the proposed rule by 1,252 hours
from 67,943 to 66,691. This decrease was due in part by moving the
reporting requirements for SF-270, which was previously accounted
for in the proposed rule burden package, to the section for Forms
Approved Under Other OMB Numbers.
