The Preliminary Assessment Information
Rule (PAIR) requires chemical manufacturers and importers to report
information, such as chemical identification, quantity produced or
imported, chemical processes, employee exposure, environmental
releases and use, that will help EPA evaluate the potential for
adverse human health and environmental effects caused by the
manufacture or importation of identified chemical substances,
mixtures or categories. This information enables EPA to monitor the
production, importation and use of the identified chemical
substances or mixture, and to identify, assess or manage the human
health and environmental risks associated with those
substances.
