FRA seeks to collect data from
railroads/public authorities to increase safety at highway-rail
grade crossings by requiring that train horns be sounded or
equivalent measures be taken safety at them when not
sounded.
In response to petitions for
reconsideration to FRA's Train Horns Final Rule, FRA amended the
regulation. FRA also revised its estimates for various
requirements. Overall, this amounted to a burden reduction of 2,004
hours.
