Insecurity and Hunger" by the Committee on National Statistics,
National Academy of Sciences and the likelihood that the final
report will be issued in late 2005 or early 2006. ERS should brief
OMB soon after the CNSTAT final report is released to discuss the
Committee's final recommen- dations and any resulting changes that
should be made to this supplement.

The Supplement will collect data on
food expenditures, food assistance-program participation, food
sufficiency, and adequacy of food access that will aid USDA in
assessing and improving food assistance and nutrition programs and
in monitoring the extent and severity of food insecurity in the
U.S.
