The Older Americans Act (OAA)
Amendments 2000 made significant changes in the SCSEP authorizing
legislation (OAA Title V). It increases economic self-sufficiency
for low-income individuals age 55 and over. The new requirements
include a State Senior Service Coordination plan and performance
measures. These changes require information collection. There are
56 States and territories participating in the current program and
there will be an additional 10-20 national grantees as well. Each
year about 100,000 people participate in this program.
