These regulations notify the mining
community of the information requirements regarding a plan of
operations, cessation of operations, and a notice of intent. In
addition, they discuss the distribution of the information to
others, inspections, noncompliance, fire, access, appeals, and
operations in a wilderness area. The collections provide
information to the authorized officer so that the impact from a
mining proposal can be minimized through environmental analysis. We
can expect serious, long lasting, and avoidable adverse impacts to
be common occurrences without this data collection and through
management..
