MARINE CASUALTY INFORMATION COLLECTION
IS NECESSARY FOR INFORMING THE COAST GUARD OF COMMERCIAL VESSEL
CASUALTIES INVOLVING DEATH, VESSEL DAMAGE, ETC., AS MANDATED BY
CONGRESS. CHEMICAL TESTING INFORMATION COLLECTION IS NECESSARY FOR
IMPROVING THE COAST GUARD'S CAPABILITY TO DETECT/REDUCE DRUG USE BY
MARINERS. INFORMATION RELATIVE TO THE RESUL OF THESE TESTS MUST BE
SENT TO THE COAST GUARD TO ANALYZE, EVALUATE, A MONITOR PROGRAM
EFFECTIVENESS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
