The "Annual
Return/Report of Employee Benefit Plans (Form 5500 Series)" is
approved for use through July 31, 1994, which is the same approval
date given for the IRS portion of the 5500 (1545-0710). No changes
are approved these forms beyond what has been approved in
1545-0710. PBGC and DOL should continue to coordinate review of the
5500 series with IRS --so that all packages are submitted to OMB
simultaneously. PBGC should contact the Tax Forms and Publications
Division at IRS. DOL, IRS and PBGC should use a common basis and
methodology for estimating the paperwork burden of these reporting
requirements.
