This is a
generic clearance for voluntary surveys of foreign nationals
conducted outside the United States to fulfill USIAs
responsibilities under Section 6 of Executive Order No. 12048.
Individual surveys need not be submitted for OMB review prior to
use. However, USIA must repo quarterly to OMB what surveys were
undertaken under authority of this clearance, the number of
responses and burden hours for each survey, a the total number of
responses and burden hours for the quarter. The report must include
a copy of the survey instrument (or an English translation) for
each survey reported. All surveys must conform to th Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980 and OMB regulations at 5 CFR 1320. OMB may
revoke or suspend this generic clearance at any time, or may
require that any survey be submitted for individual review by
OMB.
