Abstract: THE HIGHER EDUCATION PANEL PROVIDES LIMITED AMOUNTS OF POLICY-RELEVANT INFORMATION FROM COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ON A RELATIVELY RAPID TURN-AROUND BASIS. THE INFORMATION IS REQUESTED BY AND USED BY FEDERAL POLICY MAKERS IN THE THREE SPONSORING AGENCIES--DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES, AND THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION. THIS ACTIVITY IS CONDUCTED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF P.L. 81-501, SEC. 3(A)(6)
