State agencies administering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are mandated to participate in a computer matching program with the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE). The computerized matching program compares each state SNAP agency's applicant and recipient information with employment information maintained in the National Directory of New Hires (NDNH). The outcomes of which provide each state SNAP agency with information that will help to establish or verify an individual's eligibility for SNAP assistance, reduce payment errors, identify duplicate participation, and maintain program integrity. Each SNAP agency is required to provide annual performance outcomes attributable to the use of NDNH information. OCSE is required to periodically report to the Office of Management and Budget performance measurements demonstrating how the use of information in the NDNH supports OCSE's strategic mission, goals, and objectives. The SNAP performance reports will assist OCSE in fulfilling this OMB requirement.
