TYPE B-17 - OTHER NOT CLASSIFIED ABOVE
In order to be a Type B-Other, a sample address must meet the minimal
conditions of a Type B but falls outside the designated Type B categories.
The minimal conditions for a Type B are that the sample address DOES NOT
meet the definition of a housing unit but has the POTENTIAL of being
converted or repaired and used as a living quarters in the future.
A vacant home or manufactured/mobile home is NOT a Type B-Other.
A vacancy fails the Type B test because it is habitable even though

ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT
ADUPRIMARY

Some properties have both a primary unit and a secondary unit, called
an accessory dwelling unit. A primary unit is the main unit on a
residential property. An accessory dwelling unit is an independent
residence with its own entrance and exit, a fully functioning kitchen and
bathroom, and is smaller than the primary unit.
They can be inside the primary residence (for example, a basement
apartment). They can be attached to the primary residence (for example,
a converted attached garage apartment). They can be detached, but still
on the same property as the primary residence (for example, a guest
home or tiny home).
Is this housing unit considered a primary residential unit or an
accessory dwelling unit?
