Appendix E - Sample Enrollment Progress Tool email

Greetings PREIS Evaluators,

Attached is a tool we developed to assess recruitment, enrollment, sample sizes, and attrition in your evaluation. This tool will help our team to identify any specific areas where we can provide additional evaluation support to ensure you have an adequate sample size and minimal attrition to meet the Standards for Rigor. This tool should also prepare you for completing a CONSORT diagram in your final report. There are two versions of the tool – one for evaluations with individual assignment and another for evaluations with cluster assignment. The instructions are included within each tool and in a separate PDF as well.

The tool should be completed on a quarterly basis, beginning in November 2024 for discussion on your November or December LES call. Each time you complete the tool, you should discuss it with your LES liaison, OPRE, and FYSB to 1) identify any potential issues with achieving adequate analytic sample sizes or attrition that might exceed thresholds specified by the Standards for Rigor and the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Evidence Review and 2) brainstorm solutions based on where you are in your evaluation.
