Circumstances of Change Request for OMB 0920-1444

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Global Migration Health (DGMH) requests a nonmaterial/non-substantive of the currently approved emergency Information Collection Request: 2024 Marburg Traveler Monitoring Assessment (OMB Control 0920-1444). Given the urgent need to collect this information from state and local health departments, CDC requests approval of this change request by 12pm on November 1, 2024.

Change Request

CDC is requesting non-substantive changes to the CDC Marburg Virus Disease Healthcare Worker Monitoring form. The purpose of this change is to update the instructions for respondents and to simplify the questions for health departments. CDC does not consider this change substantive as it does not add or remove questions and CDC does not anticipate this will change the estimated time for each health department submission of the form. The data collected from this survey will be shared with state and local health department partners to aid the partners in prioritizing public health monitoring and post-arrival management of travelers in accordance with CDC’s Interim Recommendations for Post-Arrival Public Health Management of Travelers from Rwanda.

CDC is also requesting non-substantive changes to the 2024 Rwanda MVD Outbreak Domestic Response: Final Survey for traveler monitoring data capture from STLHDs form. The purpose of this change is to align questions with CDC’s Interim Recommendations for Post-Arrival Public Health Management of Travelers from Rwanda and clarify language for health departments to report.

CDC does not anticipate these changes will affect the estimated burden for either of these forms. CDC will use the data collected to evaluate facets of the U.S. response to this Marburg outbreak. Additionally, the data collected from these forms will be shared with state and local health department partners to aid them in evaluation of jurisdiction responses to this outbreak.

Increase in Annualized Total Burden Hours:

The previous burden calculated for this data collection consisted of 630 hours (rounded to nearest hour). CDC does not anticipate this update will change the estimated annual burden.
