BIA collects data on Indian child welfare caseloads and child abuse and neglect caseloads on a quarterly basis. The data is useful on a local level to the tribes and tribal organizations for case management purposes, and on a nationwide basis for planning and budgeting of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) program.
