Appendix C. E-mail to Workers’ Rights Organizations for Recruitment for Cognitive Interviews

IF SENT AS E-MAIL–Subject: Workers Needed for Testing a National Survey—Earn $50

<DATE>

Dear <NAME>,

Westat, a research company based in Rockville, MD, is doing an important national study on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. This study hopes to learn more about workers in jobs covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The study will ask workers about hours worked and pay. We will ask individuals to complete select questionnaire items and answer questions that will help us revise the questionnaire.

Because your organization plays an active role in the community we are asking for your help in recruiting workers. We kindly ask that you post or distribute the attached research announcement to interested industry workers that you represent.

Interviews will be conducted virtually on Zoom and last up to 90 minutes. Upon successful completion of the interview, all participants will be provided with a $50 Amazon electronic gift card.

Interested individuals can visit [URL] to take a brief survey. If eligible, someone from Westat will follow up.

If you would like more information about this study, please contact April Fales at AprilFales@Westat.com.
