The purpose of the Predominantly Black
Institutions Competitive (PBI-C) grant program is to support the
strengthening of PBIs to carry out programs in the following areas:
science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM); health
education; internationalization or globalization; teacher
preparation; or improving educational outcomes of African American
males. This application package includes program background,
application instructions, and forms needed to submit a complete
application to the Department of Education. Grants are awarded
competitively. This information collection is necessary to comply
with Title III, Part F Section 371 of the HEA. This discretionary
grant falls under the Streamlined Clearance Process for
Discretionary Grant Information Collections, 1894-0001.
