Quota regulations (the Regulation) (7
CFR 6.20-6.37) which governs the administration of the import
licensing system applicable to most dairy products subject to
tariff-rate quotas (TRQs). Licenses are issued each quota year to
eligible applicants and are valid for 12 months. Applicants must
submit appropriate forms to certify eligibility and receive
license.
The number of annual burden
hours decreased from 479 to 394 due to automation of the licensing
processes which no longer uses paper forms 923, 923A, 923B, 924A
and 924B. The ATLAS system replaced all paper forms which
streamlined the process for license requests. This resulted in a
decrease in annual costs to participants from $21,085.58 to
$18,297.36.
