USDAs National Agricultural Statistics
Service is requesting a three-year renewal for a group of list
frame and two area frame surveys that comprise its core program.
The new annual burden of 184,373 hours is up 8,790 hours from the
previous inventory of 175,583 hours. The increase in responses and
burden was greater than the decrease in burden from the removal of
the Agricultural Coverage Evaluation Survey (ACES) that will next
be conducted in 2027. There are also sample size changes due to the
changes in population.

The increase in number of
responses and burden is due to an extra June Area Survey (all three
years 2024-2026). The previous burden was for 2021 and 2022 as the
2020 survey was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The
increase in responses and burden was greater than the decrease in
burden from the removal of the Agricultural Coverage Evaluation
Survey (ACES) that will next be conducted in 2027.
