Public Burden Statement

According to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, no persons are required to respond to a collection of information unless such collection displays a valid OMB control number.  The valid OMB control number for this information collection is 1820-0682.  Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 6 hours per response, including time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information.  The obligation to respond to this collection is required to obtain or retain benefit under 20 U.S.C. section 1400 et. seq..  If you have any comments concerning the accuracy of the time estimate, suggestions for improving this individual collection, or if you have comments or concerns regarding the status of your individual form, application or survey, please contact Diana Yu (diana.yu@ed.gov) directly.

The chart catalogs those IDEA Part C requirements that State Part C lead agencies and early intervention services programs must compile, retain, and make available, as appropriate. The Federal government does not collect this information.

Free and low-cost legal services. Each Part C LA in FFY 2006 received an average of approximately XX complaints. In FFY 2005, 15 LAs or 27% of States adopted Part B due process procedures for Part C and thus would have had to provide parents with this list of free and low cost services. List of hearing officers. Approximately 15 States have adopted Part B due process procedures for Part C. The LAs in these States must maintain a list of individuals who serve as hearing officers, along with the qualifications of each of the individuals.
