The Maritime Administration requires
approved maritime training institutions seeking excess or surplus
government property to provide a statement of need/justification
prior to acquiring the property. This information is needed by
MARAD's Office of Sealift Support to determine compliance with
applicable statutory requirements regarding surplus government
property. Obligation to respond is required to obtain or retain
benefits.
