The purpose of the plan requirements
is to enable State, local, Indian Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT)
governments to better understand the risks they face from natural
hazards and to make decisions and take actions to reduce the risks
from those hazards. Implementation of planned, pre-identified,
cost-effective mitigation measures will streamline the disaster
recovery process. The mitigation plan is the demonstration of the
goals, priorities, and commitment to reduce risks from natural
hazards and serves as a guide for SLTT decision makers as they
commit resources to reducing the effects of natural
hazards.
FEMA is providing updated
estimates for both the Total Number of Responses and Average Burden
per Response for each of the five non-instrument forms in this
