I agree to the release of all data collected in collaboration with the NEFSC Cooperative
Research Branch. This includes:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)

All trip, effort, catch (kept and discard information), landings, and apportionment data
GPS data including position, speed, and track angle collected during project activities
Operations data collected during project activities
Vessel-related significant events
Gear specifications
Additional environmental data (optionally collected) including, but not limited to:
- Temperature and depth data
- Net mensuration data
- Weather data

Data collected is submitted directly to and is maintained by the Northeast Fisheries Science
Center. Only subtrip level data that is collected to meet federal reporting requirements is
submitted to the Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office.
This data supports current research topics relating to enhanced stock monitoring through the
use of electronic reporting technology and testing, tracking the use of more selective fishing
gears and practices, linking oceanographic and socioeconomic factors to fishery models, and
real-time data transmission.

Vessel Electronic Reporting System (VERS) - Vessel Configuration
Vessel Electronic Reporting System (VERS) – The VERS system is a Web Based application which
allows users to view and edit electronic logbook data via the internet.
This Vessel Configuration form is used for the following purposes:
1. Collect of the information required to configure related vessel and user accounts
2. Identify and provide an appropriate level of data access to the individuals involved
3. Ensure that vessel owners are aware of vessel reporting activities
4. Provide a means for the submission of electronic vessel logbook data collected
through:
- Fisheries Logbook and Data Recording Software (FLDRS)
A separate copy of this form must be submitted for each individual vessel. There are two options for
completing the attached form, it may be completed as a fillable PDF and then printed for signature
afterward, or printed and completed as a paper form. These instructions provide guidance and definition
to the fields and options.

Public Burden Statement
A Federal agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, nor shall a person be subject to a penalty for failure to comply with an information collection subject to the requirements of the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 unless the information collection has a currently valid OMB Control Number. The approved OMB Control Number for this information collection is 0648-XXXX. Without this approval, we
could not conduct this Collection of High Resolution Spatial and Temporal Fishery Dependent Data to Support Scientific Research. Public reporting for this information collection is estimated to be approximately 30 minutes
per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the information collection. All responses to this
information collection are voluntary. Send comments regarding this burden estimate or any other aspect of this information collection, including suggestions for reducing this burden to the NOAA Fisheries: 28 Tarzwell
Drive, Narragansett RI, 02906, ATTN: Katie Burchard/Cooperative Research Branch Operations Specialist.
