an investigation of this upholstered furniture case.

Determine the type of furniture, its construction, its materials, and its complying standards.
Determine the specific location of the ignition.
Obtain information on each, non-emergency personnel, and person present in structure during the
fire. In particular, determine their locations, conditions, abilities to escape the fire, and actions
during the fire.
Determine the type of ignition source and how it came in contact with the upholstered furniture.
If possible, determine the approximate year that the furniture was manufactured.
Determine how residents were alerted to the fire and what they did in response.
Complete relevant appendices on smoke alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and candles.
Obtain the fire investigation, medical, and insurance reports.
Please include all primary and all backup contacts in the distribution of the completed IDI.
