The Internal Revenue Service offers
free assistance with tax return preparation and tax counseling
using specially trained volunteers. The Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs
assist seniors and individuals with low to moderate incomes, those
with disabilities, and those for whom English is a second language.
Using these forms will provide consistent information that is
needed when potential VITA/TCE volunteers submit their interest in
volunteering to represent the IRS when they prepare tax returns
during filing season
The Agency is requesting
emergency approval to assist with virtual tax return preparation
and voter registration assistance in accordance with Executive
Order #14019. SPEC will be adding two questions to Form 13715,
Volunteer Site Information Sheet, to capture this data.
