Abstract: The United States International Trade Commission (Commission), at the request of the Committee on Finance of the U.S. Senate (Committee), is conducting a factfinding investigation (Inv. No. 332-586) to analyze the trade and economic effects of foreign censorship policies and practices on U.S. businesses and their global operations. This report will use survey responses to analyze these impacts. The Commission will deliver the results of its investigation to the Committee by July 5, 2022.

Short Statement: ‬The Commission currently imposes no reporting burden on firms with respect to foreign censorship measures that affect the activity of U.S. firms in foreign markets. The burden on firms will increase because of a request from the Committee to provide a report on this topic and because such data are not publicly available. This is a one-time collection for such data.
