This is a request for extension, without change, of a currently approved collection of information. The existing IC "Weather Modification Activities Reports - Initial, Interim, and Final" was broken out into 2 separate ICs (Initial Reports, and Interim and Final Reports) to provide transparency and accurately reflect the response time for each form and number of expected responses of each form. No changes were made to the information collected or reporting requirements. NOAA collects reports on weather modification activities (e.g., cloud-seeding) for archive, to meet legislative requirements originating in 1971, and to respond to requests for information. Reports consist of an initial, an interim form if needed, and a final form which summarize planned and concluding location and project type. NOAA maintains these records in a publicly-accessible archive and provides summaries and responses to queries when requested.

The change in burden is a result of breaking IC "Weather Modification Activities Reports - Initial and Interim and Final Reports" out into two separate ICs - Initial Reports, and Interim and Final Reports. This allowed for the correct entry of burden time per response and number of responses (10 reflects the number of interim responses). There are no changes to the requirements of this collection.
