OSHA is requesting an adjustment decrease in the burden hours for the collections of information in the Standard from 519,161 hours to 504,377 hours, for a total adjustment decrease of 14,784 burden hours. The decrease is primarily attributed to a drop of the number of extinguishers estimated to be in use in the United States. There was an increase in the total cost for employers to hydrostatically test a portable fire extinguisher from $72,069,467 to $76,637,563 annually. The increase is due to an increase in the price to perform the test.
