Although the sample size is
increasing from approximately 147,000 to 169,000 between the 2019
and 2021 survey cycles to offset the diminishing response rate
among both new sample members and returning sample members, and to
account for the non-production bridge panel, the overall burden
impact is expected to decrease. The main explanations for the
decrease in burden are the lower expected response rate (75% rather
than 80%) and the shorter questionnaire completion time (25 minutes
rather than 30 minutes) that was calculated using 2019 NSCG
paradata.
