Under Title 28, United States Code
(U.S.C.), Section (§) 534 and 34 U.S.C. § 41303, this collection
requests incident-based data from law enforcement agencies in order
for the FBI UCR Program to collect and disseminate NIBRS
data.
For this extension, the
respondents’ annual burden was calculated using the actual number
of months (1-12) for which the respondents submitted data. An
additional 300 hours were added to the burden to cover state UCR
Program and local LEA outreach. Burden hours are expected to
increase as the FBI UCR Program transitions to a NIBRS-only data
collection in January 2021 and additional agencies begin submitting
data via NIBRS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
