The FTC seeks to extend for an
additional three years the current Paperwork Reduction Act
clearance for information collection requirements contained in its
Funeral Industry Practice Rule ("Rule"). The Rule ensures that
consumers who purchase funeral goods and services have accurate
information about the terms and conditions for such goods and
services. The Rule requires that funeral providers disclose this
information to consumers and maintain records to facilitate
enforcement of the Rule.
US Code:
15
USC 57a Name of Law: Federal Trade Commission Act
There are no program changes.
The differences in burden estimates from the prior clearance
reflect updates in the estimated number of funerals and a decrease
in the estimated number of covered funeral providers.
