This information collection is necessary to facilitate the creation and use of a database to help address the problem of unwanted calls to reassigned numbers. The database will enable any caller to verify whether a number has been reassigned before calling that number, and it will help consumers avoid unwanted calls intended for others. Therefore, the Commission is seeking OMB approval for a new collection and requests a new OMB Control Number for the information burdens associated with the Reassigned Numbers Database.
