information. We are required to publish
this notice in the Federal Register by
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.

Abstract: Pursuant to 46 U.S.C.
501(b), the Maritime Administrator is
required to make determinations of the
availability of qualified United States
flag capacity to carry coastwise cargo in
connection with all requests for waivers
of the Jones Act (46 U.S.C. 55102). This
information collection supports that
mission.
Respondents: Respondents include
but are not limited to coastwise
qualified vessel owners, operators,
charterers, brokers and representatives.
Affected Public: Business or other for
profit.

ACTION:
The Secretary of
Transportation, as represented by the
Maritime Administration (MARAD), is
authorized to grant waivers of the U.S.build requirements of the coastwise
trade laws to allow the carriage of no
more than twelve passengers for hire on
vessels, which are three years old or
more. A request for such a waiver has
been received by MARAD. The vessel,
and a brief description of the proposed
service, is listed below.
