A Message from the Director, U.S. Census Bureau:

You have been selected to participate in the 2020 Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey, conducted in partnership with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics to better understand the characteristics of trucks on our nation’s roads. The data will be used to create investments in our nation’s infrastructure, vehicle technologies and parts; as well as, to evaluate truck safety needs, emissions estimates, and conservation practices. The results of this survey are so valuable that the data from the 2002 Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey are still being used today to make current decisions for the nation’s truck needs.
